All In for Lust (Soul Seductors Book 1): A Paranormal Alpha Male RomanceAll In for Lust (Soul Seductors Book 1): A Paranormal Alpha Male Romance by Amelia Gates
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Too much to soon with no explanation

I received this bookA first book is supposed to make you desire to read the others. This book had potential until all the other characters were thrown into the mix. You do not have enough time to introduce new characters when I haven’t a clue about the first 2. I know what a soul seductor is but what happens to Maria Maria and Kraze? I could have been a fan if the author drew me in with the two main characters instead of all the co-stars.

Book Review for Kresley Cole ‘s Sweet Ruin

February 8, 2016

Sweet Ruin (Immortals After Dark, #16)Sweet Ruin by Kresley Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was everything and more. The beauty of Kresley Cole is she has the most powerful and strong women in all of books. I never have to worry about a dingy chic because she won’t give you one. This book is no different.
The main characters are Josephine and Rune. Both are hybrids and meet in a courtyard under strange circumstances. Then the adventure begins. Rune in his arrogance must pursue the one woman who he cannot have while Josephine does everything in her power to learn more about the Lore from Rune. This of course would not be a Kresley Cole book without our favorite anti-hero Nix. She of course sends them in one direction only to end up somewhere they never truly expected. we also see a side of Nix that is almost scary. I laughed and I almost cried following these two characters. The plot has become even thicker with the new characters of Moron.
I would recommend this book to those who have been following Cole since the beginning. If you have not, you will be very lost. I too became lost at points, trying to remember characters from many books ago. Considering that this is Cole’s 16th book in the series it is easy to lose track.
Sweet Rune is yet another great addition to this highly addictive book series.

Gena Showalter/ Book Review

November 17, 2015

http://The Hotter You Burn (The Original Heartbreakers, #2)The Hotter You Burn by Gena Showalter
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ugh…it hurts so bad. I LOVE Gena Showalter and I enjoy this series, but I was so annoyed by this book. I actually skipped the second book in the series waiting on the library to get it, but I was able to follow very easily. I was annoyed that Harlow would not just LEAVE!! Who the hell is going to stay in a place with nothing but negative memories? These people treated her like crap and damn near killed her and she LOVES the town so much…girl bye. Then she lives in a TENT?? What the hell? I could not wrap my head around that entire concept and then the RV comes into play. Who does this? I was just confused as to why she made her life so hard and why Beck was such an idiot dying to sleep with her.
I will admit that I enjoyed the playful banter, but the tent just threw me off. Not once but TWICE she moves into a tent and DOES NOT LEAVE…JUST LEAVE THE DAMN TOWN!!!
I love you Gena but this one through me for a loop.

http://Born of BetrayalBorn of Betrayal by Sherrilyn Kenyon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If you have not read the entire league series you will be lost. I do not recommend starting with this book at all. Sherrilyn Kenyon writes a very in depth story and it continues for the previous book Born of Defiance. In Born of Defiance, we are taken backward to the beginning of the League series in order to understand Fain and his relationships to Galen. They were separated in their youth by a misunderstanding and are brought back together when Galen is asked to assist the Alliance to oversee the joining of forces. She is reunited with the father of her son Talyn, who we met in Born of Defiance, and the adventure begins. There is action and spaceships and romance. All sorts of twists and turns. I only gave this 4 stars because I wish Sherrilyn had a family tree within the book. There are so many different species, family relations, and planets throughout the book it becomes confusing. This actually made me want to start at the beginning of the series and revisit the characters. This is definitely a book for true league fans. It does not disappoint and could easily fall into a fantasy genre rather than a romance.

My first adult coloring book

October 29, 2015

I am brand new to adult coloring and that is why I decided to try this book. It is a beautiful book. The detail is amazing. I wanted to get into the meditative state that coloring brings. This may not have been the best choice to begin. If the coloring field has levels, then this is a definite advance coloring book. My problem was there was almost too many tiny details. The entire book is  full of tiny coloring spaces. This means you are constantly sharpening pencils or finding very fine tip marker/ gel pens. To me, this is not very relaxing especially if you have to wear glasses. I don’t wear glasses, but this was very straining even for me. The book is beautiful, but it was not very relaxing for me.
I received this book from Blogging for books for review.

Grit to Great book review

October 16, 2015

I am usually not a fan of non-fiction but I am trying to break out of my genre and I am glad I did. If you are a 70s-80’s kid you will truly appreciate this book. It is very entertaining  and the stories told are relatable and interesting. It is written in snippets with anecdotes between chapters. The stories are ones I have never heard about from some of most successful business of our time.  I did not realize who these two authors were until they began telling the stories of the marketing campaigns they were a part of, Aflac and Wendy’s just to name a few.
They spoke of this feeling of entitlement among my generation and boy did it hit home. They made me get up off my butt and reevaluate things. The tips they give are doable and they make so much sense. This would be a great book for high school students as well as college. It is a straight forward look at the old fashion word “grit”. Digging in deeper than the other guy and not using your lack of extraordinary talent or knowledge as an excuse.
I loved this book and I am definitely adding it to my list of go-to favorites. I would definitely keep a highlighter or notepad next to me while reading it.
If you are not a fan of non-fiction this book will change your mind and having wanting more from these 2 great authors.
