Image I have my house back!!

I have my house back!! The kids were home for a week for winter break and I must say I have never been more excited to make school lunches. I picked up these strawberries from Publix. They were on sale for $1!! Can you believe that! I grabbed 4 containers and I am now down to 2!! Although, I hate the warmer months I love the bounty of seasonal fruits and vegetables.

I decided to give the 2 little ones strawberries in their lunches and I made my first PB&J sandwich with my homemade jelly. The jelly was made from Welch’s grape juice and I will probably never buy store bought jelly again. I bought the juice for .94 with a coupon and got 5 jars out of the recipe and still had juice left for the ladies and especially my husband who LOVES grape juice. The recipe was actually included in the pectin box I used.

Now, to clean up my living room and get my home back. I get lazy when I don’t have to shuttle kids everywhere. So, now I can get back to work. How do you handle winter breaks? Do you find that you are still running ragged or do you find it a time to just, take a break??

Image Hard Rules Book Review

Hard Rules (Dirty Money, #1)Hard Rules by Lisa Renee Jones
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley for an honest review. I have to say the normal books with a cliffhanger ending are short and annoying, because they leave all the depth for the next book(s). However, Hard Rules broke my self imposed stereotype and was a very sexy suspenseful read. Shane is a billionaire lawyer trying to legitimize his father’s company and his father is using this as his personal entertainment watching the brothers battle it out as he battles cancer. Shane meets Emily during a very sexy encounter in a coffee shop and is intrigued with her from there, even as she slips from his grasp.
Eventually they meet again and agree to one night togehther. Emily is fine with this because she has secrets of her own that she wants to keep that way. But, one night is not enough for Shane or Emily and the romance roller-coaster begins. With very sexy love scenes and a lot of wondering how this will end and who IS Emily really? What does she have to do with Shane’s family business. How with this story come back around? This was a great beginning to a series. Not sure how many books are in the series but this is a great start.

Image Wingman Book Review

The WingmanThe Wingman by Natasha Anders
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley for an honest review.
This is a book that makes me smile. I smiled throughout the entire book. The setting is like many books with a supposedly ugly duckling and hot guy but it is so much more. Daisy is the baby among her 3 sisters. The “wingman” Mason is asked by his brother to keep Daisy occupied while he talks to her sister. But Mason is really a good guy and feels bad for even doing it. Daisy does find out however and is obviously hurt, but comes up with a way for Mason to make it up to her by being her date for her sisters wedding. But, of course, that is too simple. This romance has to be believable. I don’t want to give too much away but the story goes from there. A “fake’ romance and true love in the end. I loved this story so much because it was quiet long but you needed the length in the story to give you the background and to put the characters in enough situations to make you love them and it worked. I was cheering for Mason and Daisy throughout the entire book. The book also sets up the next book in the series, which is Daisy’s sister, who we learn enough about to make you excited about what is to come.

Image Her Relentless Russian Book Revies

Her Relentless Russian (Karev Brothers, #3)Her Relentless Russian by Leslie North
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Once again I wanted to give this book more stars but it was just too short. I love the premise but I want more. I like Dmitry for the first book (who does not love a sexy bookstore owner). I knew whoever his love interest was, she was going to be his opposite and she was. Harper is spunky and smart and everything Dmitry is not.
The sex scenes were hot as hell Leslie does a great job in that aspect. I would have love there to be 1 horizontal position and maybe a bed but the story moves so quickly there is not enough time. They catch the bad guy and live happily ever after.
If you are looking for a quick read for a plane flight, it is great. No long commitment. It can be read rather quickly, as with the entire series. I love the writing I just want her to go deeper…no pun intended.

Image Review of Setta Jay’s Eternal Ecstasy

Eternal Ecstasy (The Guardians of the Realms, #10)Eternal Ecstasy by Setta Jay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

All good things must come to an end but boy did it go out big. I think from the beginning of this series I worried for Sirena…will she ever find her boo? I loved her pin-up style and the fact that she handled the fellas really well.
It is so difficult for me to give reviews without spoiling the story but I will try. The story begins where the last left off, Sirena watching Hroarr, long hair, beard having, tan, in the shower (let’s just pause right there). As with the other stories we know they are mates, well Sirena does this, however is all new to Hroarr. He is the most arrogant guy ever…yes, worse than Hades LOL, but we find out why. We find a lot of surprises as a matter of fact.
I think my favorite part about this book is that Mrs. Jay, knows it will end and she writes it as such. She gives us closure throughout the story not haphazardly, it is thoroughly written out in detail. She brings every character we have met before back throughout the story. We are not left to wonder “what happened to….?” She lets us know. This is one of the best endings to a series I have read and definitely a top 5 in paranormal romance series. She has done it. Setta Jay has the most memorable sex scenes in romance. As I have told Setta Jay herself..”this please me”
Arc was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review

Image 12 Dares of Christmas book review

The 12 Dares of ChristmasThe 12 Dares of Christmas by Leigh W. Stuart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I love to grab Christmas romances during the holidays and this one was perfect. I enjoyed the pleasant writing and I laughed out loud several times. Both of the characters had a back story although I would a have liked a little bit more about Gabe. But other than that I enjoyed the flow of the book it was funny and very sexy. I could also see the set up for the overprotective brother and I am very curious about his story. If you want a story to read while escaping from relatives this holiday, this one is perfect.

Image Vacancy by Tracey Ewens book review

Vacancy (A Love Story #6)Vacancy by Tracy Ewens
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

You know when you read a book and you want to be friends with the character? Hollis is the complete opposite. This book is part of a series simply title A Love Story. I started with this series mid book with Stirred and I love it so much I had to find out what happens next. Well, it was ok. The writing was good although a little long winded at times but no amount of writing could make me like Hollis as a character. She was just a witch, although the other adjective would fit nicely here as well. The excuse for her funky attitude was her being the oldest and having all these expectations placed on her. But, she was too much maintenance for my taste and I almost wished that Matthew would have let her wallow in her own self pity because she was not worth it. Matthew was great and really too good for Hollis. I understand that opposite attract but a funky attitude does not. I have read books about feisty and demanding women before but this was character gave me the blues. I may give the next in the series a try or even the previous but I don’t like books that leave me drained and this one did just that.

Image Flawed by Tracy Wolff book review

Flawed (Ethan Frost, #4)Flawed by Tracy Wolff
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was given this book for an honest review. I wanted to give it 5 stars I really did buuuuut, the ending. I really enjoyed this book. I love books where the people hate each other and end up loving each other. This did a great job of that. The book is the second part of a series and that is made very clear. The story was still simple to follow because the author does not assume you have read the first story so she gives you a good background as to why Tori does not care for Miles. Tori’s character was ok. She was not very complex and I wanted to know a little bit more about her and I just did not get that from this book. I got more from Miles’ side and I really enjoyed him as a character. Tori was kind of a whiny brat and I was not her biggest fan but the story was still a good one. However, the ending seemed rushhed to me. I was left with “how did we get here?” It just seemed to jump straight into the epilogue, which I was not happy with. Great story but I don’t think I will go back and read the first in the series.
